Paris, May 30, 2008 — Benoît Widemann is pleased to announce the immediate availability of RapidScript 1.2. RapidScript is a plugin for RapidWeaver that builds web pages using AppleScript. Using RapidScript, you can build pages containing data from other scriptable applications, such as the Finder, Address Book, iTunes, TextEdit, Pages, FileMaker, Excel... The script extracts the data and shape it for the web by turning it to HTML. RapidScript then builds the page within RapidWeaver, with full respect of the site's theme and CSS.
Version 1.2 is fully compatible with RapidWeaver 4. This update is free for registered users of previous version.
While very simple to use,
RapidScript offers full programming capabilities to
RapidWeaver-generated pages. It comes with several built-in
example scripts that can serve as handy starts, easy to
tailor to specific needs:
• Access to a group of records in Address Book;
• Catalog the contents of a folder and its subfolder to
build a hierarchical list;
• Grab favorite music from iTunes;
• Uncover system info, user name, processor type, memory
size and IP address, to build administration pages in
networks;
• Get data in FileMaker databases, Excel sheets, XPress
documents…
RapidScript is $10. It can be tried full-featured for a
period of two months.
RapidScript requires Mac OS X 10.4 or more and RapidWeaver
3.5 or more. Version 1.2 is fully compatible with
Mac OS X 10.5 and RapidWeaver 4.
