Compatibility

Carnet is fully optimized for Power Macintosh, and is compatible with every Mac from the Macintosh Plus to the latest iMac and G4. Carnet is fully compatible with Mac OS 9.

Carnet's default memory allocation is 4,096 K. In most cases the default value will suffice, but you can change this amount to match your needs.

How to change the amount of memory allocated to Carnet:

1. Make sure Carnet is not running by checking in the application menu at the top right of the screen. If Carnet is present in the menu, select it, then choose Quit in Carnet's File menu.

2. Open the Carnet Folder that is installed on your hard disk. Click once on the Carnet application icon to select it.

3. In the Finder's File menu, choose Get Info.

4. Certain versions of Mac OS split the information window in several panes. If appropriate, choose Memory in the pop-up menu on the window.

5. In the bottom field, labelled 'Preferred Size', enter the value you wish to allocate to Carnet. If your color printer has trouble printing with Carnet, try a larger value such as 8,000 or 12,000 K.

6. Close the information window and relaunch Carnet.

Printing may need a lot of memory, especially if the printing template is complex (large color pictures, lots of fonts). If the printer has trouble coping with a template, allocating more memory to Carnet will fix the problem in most cases.
