Installation
Installing Carnet is much easier using the installer. However, Carnet is a straightforward application that can run simply by itself and doesn't need any specific extension or obscure setup.
Carnet can take advantage of the installer for Phonomatic (an optional control panel used to launch Carnet with a hot-key), these help files, and extras such as sample files, default printing templates, and Finder Helper. See in the Carnet Folder for more information.
If you use an anti-virus
extension, you may want to restart the computer holding the <shift>
key down to disable
extensions temporarily, before actually installing Carnet. Certain anti-virus
utilities can make the installer program fail.
Updating from a Previous Version
If you are updating from a previous version, your system folder already contains a Carnet Templates folder. The installer will preserve your templates and will not overwrite them.
If you wish to install the new templates and to keep your previous templates, do this:
- Open the system folder and locate the Carnet Templates folder.
- Drag the Carnet Templates folder to the desktop.
- Proceed with the installation. The installer creates a new Carnet Templates folder in the system folder, containing the new printing templates.
- Open both the new folder and the old one. Drag the old templates you want to keep to the new folder.
- Drag the old folder to the trash.

Important
-- Avoid keeping more than one version of Carnet on your disk. You
will usually launch Carnet by opening your list, not by double-clicking
the application itself. Thus, you will not be able to control which
version is launched. |
