Editing Numbers

The numbers fields accept any character, however they ignore any non-numeric character while dialing, except *, # and the comma, which is used to pause the dialing and wait for a second dial tone.

Thus, any separator can be used while entering numbers: parentheses, dashes, spaces, etc. A properly typed number will be easier and more pleasant to read when printed in an address book.

Marking the End of a Number

You can append extra data after the number: a station number, a name, anything. To avoid dialing digits that are not part of the number, insert the = character to mark the end of the number. For example:

(014) 455 6677 = after 11pm

Only the digits on the left of the = sign will be dialed.
