Searching the Fields

The usual method to find a record is to type the first characters of the name. If the wanted record is not found that way, use the search function.

The search in Carnet is very fast. It is case-insensitive. It's not sensitive either to accents or diacritical marks. It looks for the searched text in every field at once, except if you decide otherwise.

Simple Search

The Find dialog has two levels. In 'simple' mode, you only enter the text string to find and the search is performed in step by step mode. Carnet selects the found occurrences one after the other ('Find' F, then 'Find Again' G). The search is performed in all open lists (but not on the network).

Wildcard Search

In the search string, the # character is a wildcard that can replace any digit 0-9.

For example, this wildcard feature allows to search for every zip codes starting by the same two digits, such as '95###'.
