Editing
Categories
Choose Edit Categories...
in the Edit menu. This dialog box appears:

Add new: Creates
a new category. The number of categories is unlimited.
Edit: Renames
the category and updates all its occurrences in the list's records.
Delete: After
confirmation, deletes the category and all its occurrences in the list's
records (the records themselves are not deleted).
Move up and
down: Moves the category in the list, which can be freely ordered.
The related categories may thus be grouped in the menu (for example 'Personal'
and 'Family').
After you close the
dialog, Carnet may sweep the entire list to correct the records if needed.
Global
Categories, List Categories
When you edit categories,
only the categories of the current list are affected. Each list has
its own categories.
If you edit categories
when there is no list open, the changes affect the global categories.
These categories are only used while creating a new list, where they are
duplicated.
Modifying the global
categories has no effect on existing lists, which are independant since
the moment they were created. Only lists created after the change will
be affected.
If a list includes
an undefined category, the related text string is simply part of the notes.
The missing category can be defined afterwards and it will be automatically
recognized in all records where it appears.
In the Address
Book options, you can choose to filter categories while printing the
notes. This option is not available in the other types of printing templates.
