Printing
According to the kind
of template, several options are added to the Print dialog: Printing only
the current record, only the marked records, all records, print from an
initial to another one, etc.
While printing labels,
a pop-up menu in the print dialog allows to set the first label to use
on the page. The menu reflects the actual layout of the template:

Selecting
Which Label to Use in a Sheet
This feature lets
you reuse a partially printed labels sheet. Do not reuse the page too
early, else the electrostatic charge on the paper may jam the printer.
Avery labels are not meant to be reprinted more than once or twice.
However, most of the time, it will work fine.
In all Print dialogs,
an extra text box allows you to change the number of the first page. In
the labels templates, the page number is used as the label number (see
the figure above). This feature is useful to reprint only part of an address
book or a list of cards or labels.
Printing
Identical Labels
To repeat the same
label on the whole page, check both Print only current record and
Repeat on the whole page. In this particular mode, the starting
label pop-up menu is disabled and the whole page is always printed. Use
the Copies: field of the Print dialog to set the number of labels
sheets you want.
Verifying
Templates, Printing Cropping Marks
If you define your
own labels template, you may want to verify it without wasting labels
sheets. Check the Print cropping marks option in the Page Setup
dialog and try printing on normal paper.
The paper can be overlaid
on the labels to verify by transparency that the cropping marks are correctly
matching the labels position. Then, uncheck the cropping mark option before
printing the actual labels.
This option is available
in all types of templates. It will be also useful to create a pocket-sized
address book made with sub-pages, like an US-Letter paper size split in
4 sub-pages. You can print with the marks and use them as guides to cut
the sub-pages.
