Edit Menu

Undo
Undoes the last command. While editing a record, the Undo/Redo command is available anytime for text processing operations. After the whole record edition has been confirmed, it is still possible to undo all the changes together, and redo them.

Cut, Copy, Paste, Clear
In browse mode, the edit commands work on the entire record.

When a record is copied, the clipboard can be pasted into any program that accepts text.
If the <shift> key is held down while copying a record, the numbers and the notes are not copied, only the company, the name and the address are copied to the clipboard.

In edit mode within a field, the edit commands work on the edited text.

On a printing template, you can copy/paste the selected objects or the edited text. If the clipboard contains objects from the template, it can be pasted in any program that accepts the PICT format.

Select All
Only active while editing a field or on a printing template.

Show Clipboard
Displays the clipboard content.

New Record
Creates a new record. The fields are filled with default values or text between {brackets} to guide the user. The bracketed text is deleted when the edit is validated (see Adding a Record).

Edit Record
Same as a click on the Company field, which switches to edit mode. Thanks to its keyboard shortcut (E), this command allows to enter the edit mode without using the mouse (see Editing a Record).

Back to Previous Record
Returns to the previously visited record. This command allows for a quick switch between two records anywhere in the list.

Date Stamp
Same as a click on the date button, on the left of the Notes field. The current date is inserted. If the <shift> key is held down, the time is added after the date (or is not added if that option was already enabled in Preferences).

Preferences...
Displays a dialog box to set preferences (see Preferences).

Edit Categories...
Displays a dialog box to edit categories. The number of categories is unlimited.
