Searching

You may need to find a record differently. For example, we recently discussed service stations with someone, but who was it?

In the Search menu, choose Find... (or hit the F shortcut). The Find dialog appears:

Type 'station' in the field, then click the Search button. Carnet selects the first record where the word 'station' appears, which should be your recent entry in John Martin's record. If it is not the record you are looking for, choose Find Again (or hit G), Carnet moves to the next matching record.

When Carnet beeps, it means that all matching records have been found and there are no other occurrences of the searched string.

It may be more efficient to search only part of a word. For example, searching for 'mac' will find both 'Macintosh Store' and 'Used Macs'.

Search is not restricted to the beginning of words, nor to the beginning of fields. For example, searching for 'into' will find 'Macintosh', in any field of the record.
