The 'Notes' Field

The Notes field is totally different from the other fields. It can handle a very large chunk of text, up to 32,000 characters per record. It has a scroll bar that activates if the text is too long to be entirely displayed.

We have just called John Martin and we want to log the call. That's very easy: We have his record handy, so we can use its Notes field.

We can start by date-stamping the call by clicking the Date button. The date is automatically inserted in the notes.

We talked about motorbikes and service stations. The Notes field is still in edit mode, continue after the date and enter 'talked about service stations'. Then return to browse mode by hitting the <enter> key.

Categories

Click the category icon to pop-up the Categories menu and select one or more categories for this record. The categories are inserted in the notes.
